The 35th Annual Grassy Creek Mineral and Gem Show put on by the Parkway Fire and Rescue to raise money for new equipment.
This Gem Show has everything! Over 60 US and International dealers with almost any kind of jewelry, gemstone and mineral specimens, fossil, lapidary equipment and more you might want. Each booth is 20 foot by 40 foot so there are LOTS of items for sale.

Parking and admission are free.

Food is available.

Porta-a-johns are available.

This is an outside event so be prepared for rain.

Dates: Sunday,July 28th to Sunday,August 4th, 2019 with some vendors open on Saturday 27th. .
Hours: 10 to 6 daily with many vendors open earlier and later because they are staying with their booth.

Address: 136 Majestic View, Spruce Pine, NC 28777. This location is on the hill above the previous location.

The Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club, Inc, is a nonprofit, taxexempt, educational organization. Our purpose shall be exclusively educational and social: (a) to increase and disseminate knowledge of the earth sciences pertaining to minerals, gems, rocks, artifacts, and fossils and similar subjects; (b) to promote and perpetuate knowledge of the lapidary arts;: (c) to encourage field trips; (d) to encourage greater public interest and education in gems fossils and minerals, cooperating with established institutions in such matters.

The Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in
our club building. November and December meetings will be on the second Thursday only. Our Annual Show is Mother’s
Day Weekend and is held at Two Rivers Convention Center at 159 Main St, Grand Junction, CO 81501. Classes and
workshops are offered throughout the year. There are sign-up sheets at the clubhouse to get on a waiting list and scheduled
classes are posted in the newsletter.

The Grand Junction Gem & Mineral Club, Inc. is affiliated with the Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies.

About the Santa Cruz Mineral and Gem Society:
The object of this society shall be to unite and associate those persons who are interested in the study and collecting of minerals and gemstones; for the mutual improvement in the art of cutting and polishing gem or semi-gem material; and for increasing the knowledge of its members about the various earth sciences.
Educational Activities are an important objective of SCMGS is supporting and fostering education regarding geology, lapidary arts, jewelry making, and earth sciences.

Organized May 1949

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Live Oak Grange Hall , 1900 17th Avenue in Santa Cruz (Live Oak).

The general meetings involve a short board meeting including public announcements and open discussions. An organized educational presentation is given after a short social break and raffle. Junior participation is encouraged and guests are always welcome.

Applications for membership may be made at the meeting. Dues are $25 for individuals, $35 for families at the same address. Dues are due October 1st of each year.

Our monthly newsletter, “The Lapidarian”, includes announcements of field trips and other club related events, shows to see, interesting and informative articles on geology, lapidary and other aspects of our hobby, upcoming presentations, committee reports and more fun than you can shake a petrified wood stick at.

In addition to our annual show, field trips, and rock shop (follow the links at the top of the page) there is available for member checkout, a variety of literature featuring Geology, Paleontology, Jewelry fabrication, Gem Encyclopedia and more.
